Wren is a parental control application developed and operated by Wren Technologies. Our app allows parents to manage their child's digital experience — including location tracking, app controls, and screen time management. By using Wren, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our service:

• Account information: Parent's name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Child profile information: Child's first name, age, and profile photo (optional) — provided by the parent.
• Device information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for both parent and child devices.
• Location data: Real-time and historical GPS location of the child's device, collected only when the Wren app is active on the child's device.
• App usage data: Names of apps installed on the child's device, daily usage time per app, and screen-on time.
• Screen time data: Daily and weekly screen time summaries per app and total device usage.
• SOS alerts: Timestamp and location data when a child activates the SOS button.
• Subscription and billing data: Handled securely by our payment processor. We do not store full payment card details.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be explicit about what we never collect:

• We do not read, store, or monitor the content of messages, emails, or calls.
• We do not collect photos or media files from any device.
• We do not collect browsing history or website content.
• We do not use any data for advertising purposes.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal data to third parties.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely to:

• Provide and operate the Wren service — displaying location, usage stats, and controls to the parent.
• Send notifications and SOS alerts to the parent's device.
• Improve app performance and fix technical issues.
• Communicate with you about your account, subscription, and service updates.
• Comply with legal obligations.

5. Children's Privacy

Wren is designed for use by parents to manage their minor children's devices. We take children's privacy extremely seriously.

• All child data is collected under the authority and consent of the parent or legal guardian.
• We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children.
• Child profile data is never shared with third parties.
• Parents can delete all child data at any time from within the app.

We comply with applicable child privacy laws including KVKK (Turkey), GDPR (European Union), and COPPA (United States) where applicable.

6. Location Data

Location tracking is a core feature of Wren and operates as follows:

• Location data is collected from the child's device only when the Wren child app is running.
• Location data is accessible only to the verified parent account linked to the child's profile.
• Location history is stored for a maximum of 30 days, after which it is automatically deleted.
• Location data is transmitted and stored using end-to-end encryption.
• Parents can disable location tracking at any time from the parent dashboard.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Trusted third-party companies that help us operate Wren — such as cloud hosting, analytics, and payment processing — under strict confidentiality agreements.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority.
• Safety: If we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a child or prevent harm.

8. Data Security

We take data security seriously and implement industry-standard measures including:

• End-to-end encryption for all location data.
• Encrypted data storage and secure HTTPS connections.
• Regular security audits and vulnerability testing.
• Strict internal access controls — only essential personnel can access user data.

No system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Specifically:

• Location history is automatically deleted after 30 days.
• App usage data is retained for up to 90 days.
• Account data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
• Billing records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by financial regulations.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection: Object to certain types of data processing.

11. Cookies and Tracking

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. For users in the European Union, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For users in other jurisdictions, we comply with applicable local privacy laws.
